Many Purposes Of The Bandana

Most all of us are aware of bandanas and their use for tying back the hair. In today’s age where it seems anything goes, the simple little bandana is beginning to make a fashion statement.

Of course, there is the practical use for them, which was what they were originally designed for. This was to tie around the forehead to absorb perspiration that was created from whatever activity the wearer was involved in. Heavy perspiration can run into the eyes and create a burning sensation.

Then there are the sports wearers. Their main purpose for wearing the bandana is also to absorb the perspiration but it also has the duel function of keeping their hair off their face while they are active in any number of sports. Quite often, you will see people wearing bandanas in a variety of ways during the hot summer months. They really are a quick way of pulling your hair up and off your face and neck making, you feel cooler.

Being as the bandana is receiving more recognition naturally, more experimentation is being done as to what you can do with them not only in use but in appearance as well. It is not uncommon to now see cotton bandanas, which are relatively plain in themselves but are now adorned with jewels such as glitter or beads for example. It’s really quite interesting how you can change the look of the hair by the type of bandana application you use.

For a very fancy evening out type look, you can take two thin bandanas perhaps made of silk or nylon and braid them together. You can then create an upswept hairdo and tie your bandana braid around the base of it. Overlap the ends at the back and under the base and hold it place with a fancy bobby pin or even a broach. If you want to be extra classy then you can make your bandana braid out of the same material as you outfit for a very coordinated look.

For everyday average type wear, you can fold your bandana into a triangle and wear in on one section of your head. Perhaps lay it on your hair starting at mid ear. This way half of your hair is showing while the front section is not. You can then style part of the front section so it lies over the seam of the bandana.

No matter what you do to adorn your hair you should always ensure that your hair health is at its best. This is easily accomplished when you make use of superior hair care products. Then your hair accessories truly remain as enhancements and not cover-ups for poorly conditioned hair.
