When one has to deal with this problem, though it is of no comfort to know others have to deal with it to.What is comforting is the number of haircare tips that are available.
There is no doubt that frizzy hair is a problem, so like any problem we face we must find the cause, the cure, and the preventative. Before we approach this lets look at what is actually taking place with the hair to create this frizzy look. By doing so, it in itself may help to identify the cause.
If you were to take, a look at one single shaft of hair under a microscope there is much that you would see. One of the things you would note is that there are layers of cuticle, which cover the hair shaft. In frizzy hair, these shafts would look as though they were standing up instead of laying flat and snug the way they are meant to.
Frizzy hair has the characteristic of absorption. This means even the humidity in the air will be attracted to it. This it turn tends to aggravate the cuticle even more so it swells up. This is what gives it the stand up look, which now becomes visible to the naked eye as frizzy hairs. So lets see what haircare tips we can use in making a positive identification of the problem and the possible causes.
Step #1 - The Cause
a) Some individuals are just simply born with the frizzes. Just like we pick up other traits from our ancestors this could be the case here as well. Most likely, in this case you will find your hair is of a coarse texture, which usually has the tendency to be frizzy.
b) There may not be enough moisture. Here we are referring to natural moisture from the hair itself or the absence of moisture caused by some external development. For example constant exposure to the sun, or hot hair equipment. These often give the hair they are damaging a singed type look. This is almost identical to the frizz.
c) Chemicals can burn the hair as well. Once again creating the frizzes. Chemicals such as perm solutions or hair dyes of the wrong type or that are too harsh can create their damage very quickly. Even shampoo that is too harsh can have the same effect. We shouldn’t leave out the chemicals found in swimming pools as well, such as chlorine.
These are just a few of the possible causes of hair frizz there are still many others to consider. Another consideration you may want to make as well is using high quality hair care products and any of the other suggestions you find in the many haircare tips available.
