Could Anemia Cause Hair Loss?

There could be many reasons for your hair loss. If you have just given birth, or had some surgery, or are in the stages of menopause, these can be associated with the loss of hair.

 

 Iron deficiency or anemia can be the cause. This can be caused by stress to the system and any of those things mentioned are putting more stress on the body and depleting the iron reserves.

 

 

 

Knowing the cause for the hair loss helps in treating it. Knowing that one of these situations in your life, are the reason for all the hair that you are seeing on your brush in the morning, will alleviate some of the anxious thoughts that you have been having. If your red blood cells happen to be low in your body, that could be attributed to the hair loss. This is called anemia and the fact that your body is low in iron, is the reason most women in particular are experiencing this.

 

If you have this problem, it is important to contact your physician and get some iron supplements, which could reverse this problem of hair loss and iron deficiency. Your doctor should check the levels of your red blood cells to see if this is the reason for the loss, then the diagnosis would be made properly concerning your hair loss.

 

When you have had surgery, had a baby or are experiencing menopause, then there is quite a quantity of blood which is lost at this time and you will need to eat more foods which are rich in iron, so as to slow down the process which you are having with the loss of hair. You may have to take extra supplements too, to bring those blood cells up to where they should be, to alleviate this hair loss problem, as this could be the very reason this is happening.

 

Have your doctor keep a close eye on this though, as you could overdose on iron and the reverse can also happen, hair loss and other more serious medical conditions, such as the heart and also the pancreas. It is so important to always have your physicians okay before taking anything that might harm your body even further. Women can really say that they dread the fact that the loss of hair is something which they would like to avoid.
