I Am Still Young - Do I Need To Worry About Hair Loss?

There’s an old cliché that says, “You don’t miss something till you haven’t got it anymore”. In many cases, this is the way we view our hair. If we stop to think about it, we really do take our golden locks for granted. No doubt, we do get upset when our hair isn’t in the healthy condition it’s meant to be and looking at its best. In the back of our mind however, is always the concept is the hair will always grow back. Unfortunately, in many cases the days of hair growth slows down dramatically and hair loss becomes an issue.

It must also be remembered that the cause of hair loss is not always restricted to the aging. It can attack at any age of life. Sometimes it may be caused from something out of our control, or it may very well be something we are doing that the hair is not taking kindly to.

Losing ones hair should never just be accepted, at least not until the cause of the problem has been identified. The reason I say this is that it may be something that is correctable. In other words if a man in his fifties is beginning to lose his hair then he should explore some of the possible reasons, before accepting it as male pattern baldness for example.

We mentioned that when we are young we always have the thought that it will grow back. After all, we go and get haircuts and in time, it always grows back. Hair has a life cycle and it consists of growth that lasts somewhere between 2 to 6 years. The average growth rate is about ½ inch per month during the growing phase.

It would seem that at any given time about 90% of your healthy hair is in its growth stage, the other 10% is in its resting stage. It will stay this way for about 2 to 3 months then falls out. As it does though there is a new hair starting to grow when there one fell out of. This is the normal regime of naturally healthy hair but not the case when it comes to hair loss.

Everybody has some hair loss per day, its part of the cycle. It’s when that cycle becomes interrupted that the problems start. There are many factors that can affect the hair inducing it to shed.

To begin with poor hair care on our part. Perhaps we are using products that are too harsh. Then maybe we are subjecting it to chemicals such as perms and colors. Even burning it with the curling and straightening irons. Once you have identified, as any of these being the problem, then there is still hope to return your hair back to its healthy state.

By purchasing superior hair growth products you can ensure it is getting the loving care it deserves. Then by eliminating the cause your hair should be well on its way to recovery.

In cases where the hair loss is not self-inflicted, it can be caused from illness or perhaps certain medications. It is a well-known fact that individuals taking chemotherapy often lose it. The good news is once the chemo is stopped hair regrowth will begin.
