There just does not seem to be any happy medium when it comes to cowboy hats. It seems that most either love them or hate them. It is true that perhaps they are not as popular today as they were years ago; nevertheless, they are still around and most likely always will be. Hats serve a few functions and all of them important in their own aspects.
Cowboy Hats for Style:
This is probably the most common factor for the use of any type of hats. As we mentioned it was far more prevalent years ago. You can bet though should a few starlets go back to the designers hats the rest of the fashion world will follow. They really do make a fashion statement, and depending on the outfit and hairstyle, they are stunning.
The materials they are made from alone just seem to enhance the natural beauty of the hair. It does not matter if it
long hair there is just the perfect combination between hat and hair.
On the other hand, for the short and sassy
hairstyles there are the perky hats that just seem to barely sit atop the head. For the coming year of spring, the big thing is going to be the droopy casual type style. There won’t be anything dressy about these but if found in the right pattern you may be surprised how the plain old hat is going to make that spiffy hairdo come alive.
The material itself will dictate whether it fits in with the casual wardrobe or the more formal look. It does not matter how many times hats seem to get pushed back in hair fashion they will still make an appearance when it comes to the fashion trends. In regards to cowboy hats it doesn't seem to matter whether considered trendy or geeky they are around to stay.
Hats for Protection:
This is one place where hats take first place. They play a vital role in protecting the skin of the upper body from the elements particularity the sun and to some extend the wind. That is if you can keep the hat on of course. The hair suffers greatly with the sun. It can become damaged very fast. The hair ends split. It can dry out at the root affecting new
hair growth. Unprotected hair fast becomes dull lifeless hair.
That does not mean that one cannot be fashionable and hair health conscious at the same time. The key here is to put the protection the hat affords as the first priority and the fashion second. Fortunately, they work hand in hand.
Hats for Camouflage:
Unfortunately, several medical conditions can cause the
loss of hair. In these cases, the scalp is exposed and can receive severe damage from the sun. This is where the hat plays its most important roll. Not only does it act as a protection but also mens hats save many people the embarrassment they are exposed to from the hair loss.
Fortunately, many of these hats are styled in such a way that hair does not have to be exposed in order for them to look chic. Many women look extremely attractive in a hat without the need for hair to show. There is no doubt that the famous cowboy hat fits all of the criteria one looks for in hats.
